My Life on a Plate by India Knight
Review by: Purple74
This is brilliantly funny book that is written very much in the style of a conversation or a letter from a friend which makes it easy to read and difficult to put down. Clare Hutt is a 30ish married-2-kids-working-part-time woman who starts wishing for the bygone days of her youth. She does the school run in her pyjamas and wonders if that makes her a bad mother. She tried hard to please her mega-bucks fashion magazine husband, and manages to squeeze in the occassional lunch with galpals when she isn't working as a part-time journalist. Clara's has a wake up call after doing a very bad interviwe with an up-and-coming handsome Irish dancer, and she starts to take stock on her life. This is a fab book, with a VERY unexpected ending. I loved it's easy style and the humour about everyday situations.
