Complicity by Iain Banks
Review by: Justinr
I am not a person who does much reading but whenever I have to travel I always bring something by Iain Banks to read and I always finish it. I would recommend any book by this author but Complicity is one of my favourites. If you are not familiar with Iain Banks's style then you should be aware he is a compelling scottish author renowned for his black humour and fast-paced, often disturbing, stories. Think of "Trainspotting" and you have sort of got the picture. I particularly liked Complicity because the main protagonist is a thoroughly amoral dislikeable journalist into all the usual vices such as drink and drugs. Yet you can't seem to put the book down and by the climax you can't help but like him. Worth noting that this book has been turned into a film starring Jonny Lee Millar in the lead role.
