ninestories.jpgNine Stories by J.D. Salinger
Review by: AbbIEvilYesIAm

I know this book is decades old, but it is an often overlooked work of art. Salinger pens nine short stories, the first of which (as well as a few others) features a member of the Glass family, Salinger's trademark characters that inhabit the novels, "Franny and Zooey" and "Raise High the Roofbeam, Carpenters and Seymour: An Introduction." The is the tale of a man so ugly no one could look upon his face for fear of death, appropriately titled "The Laughing Man." There is a story of a very young, highly intelligent young boy who has more insight into the realm and depths of the human mind than Freud. At the end of each story, the reader will pause and more than likely have to give it another read-through.
