Henry and June: From a Journal of Love: The Unexpurgated Diary of Anais Nin 1931-1932, Anais Nin
Review by: Annika
This is the first of the Unexpurgated Diaries of, probably, the world's most famous journal writer.
Nin writes about how she met Henry Miller, and his wife June, in Paris of the 30's and the complications that arise in their relationships. It is an astonishing insight into the life of this creative woman. You easily forgive her lies and deceits and take her to your heart. She is upfront with it:
"I sit down before a letter or my journal with a desire for honesty, but perhaps in the end I am the biggest liar of them all, bigger than June, than Albertine, because of the semblance of sincerity."
