Shadowcat - I am a darker redhead, my hair being a dark brown-auburn that I do enhance the red in. Because of my Welsh blood, I have an olive complexion and grey eyes. The following is my collection of makeup: Because of my olive skin, it's very hard to find a foundation that doesn't turn orange on me. I generally have to go with ivories and that STILL looks a little too pink. However, I found one that seems to work the best. I wear Teint Naturel in Ivory/Ivoire. For powder, I purchased Merle Norman translucent loose power a couple of years ago. This thing is huge! I still haven't run out. No real color to it, but it takes away the shine from my foundation (which has a dewy finish).

I never really paid much attention to my cheekcolor for some reason. That's probably because my mother always wore the same blush I did and when I ran out I'd use hers until she bought me more. Then, when I started buying my own makeup, I learned really quick. I usually wear a plum-brown or mauve sort of color. My daily blush at the moment is Clinique Stay the Day blush in Plum Gorgeous.

In my picture here, I'm wearing a more intense eyeshadow look than I usually wear to work. This look was achieved with a Revlon shimmering powder of some sort in a pink crystal color which I don't remember the name of. I love sparkly stuff! I swept this all over my eyelid and browbone to give a nice pale shimmer. Then, in the crease, I used a smokey grey. For a less intense look, I do basically the same thing with Clinique Stay the Day shadow in Gilded Nude and Blackened Khaki. Gilded Nude is a nice semi-frosty golden beige color that isn't very bright and the Blackened Khaki is really more of a dark grey.

When I'm lining my eyes, what I use depends on the look I want. When I want a soft natural look, I use Chanel Ligne d'Eau in Smokey Brown. Normally, however, I want a more precise and defined line. For this I use Revlon Colorstay liquid liner in Charcoal. This sets off my grey eyes and since I have naturally oily skin, it doesn't come off or smudge like other liners do.

I have dark lashes, so I can get away with darker mascara. I usually use Revlon Colorstay Waterproof Curling mascara in Brown/Black. I absolutely have to wear waterproof mascara or I'll look like a raccoon by the end of the day. The Revlon Colorstay mascara is perfect. It stays on all day, but I can wash it off at night.

To tame my brows, I use Revlon Colorstay Browcolor in Auburn. A good friend of mine is a lighter redhead with very fair skin and also uses this color as well.

I am a lipstick freak. I admit it. I have a lipstick habit... and it's an expensive habit because of my tastes in lipstick. My daily lipstick (not seen here) is a gorgeous metallic red color by Chanel called Metal Garnet (Rouge a Levres Hydrabase). Unlike most reds, it doesn't look pink or orange or brown. It just looks.. well.. red. I've gone through 3 tubes in the last 2 years. Sometimes, to give it a bit more gloss, I use Chanel Glossimer in Spark, a similar shade with a bit more shimmer to it. When I am wearing something with a bit more purple or blue to it, I often will forego the Metal Garnet and opt for the same type of Chanel lipstick in a shade called Cosmic Plum, a metallic sort of dark violet shade with a tinge of brown to it. If I'm going for a lighter look, I will top this color off with a slick of Chanel Glossimer in Shimmer. Recently, I have acquired a new color called Sorceress. It is a dark plummy brown that looks great with outfits containing golds or browns. It has a bit of shimmer to it, but if I want a more intense look, I'll layer it with a bit of Gold (Soleil). (Once again these are all Chanel Hydrabase). I also have a classic red Chanel Lipstick Quad which contains the same color in gloss, matte, frost, and a semi-gloss. When wearing pastels, I opt for a Chanel color called Ash Rose. When I'm looking for a clear gloss, I use the Bath and Body Works lipglosses. I currently have the chocolate lover's set in Chocolate Milkshake, Mocha Truffle, and Raspberry Chocolate.

I also have the matching Chanel nailpolish for each of my lipsticks and I'm very particular about wearing the right one. Told you it's an expensive habit :)
