Tygerchild - I'm a medium-to-light redhead with blonde tips from too many summers with a bleaching agent (I know, I know, sacrilege). And I have pretty fair skin with a ruddy complexion.
Most of my makeup was bought after I'd gotten a makeover done. I would recommend these to redheads especially, because if you wear makeup as frequently as I do, it's not enough to run to the drugstore and pick something up. You have to know what to go for and what to stay away from beforehand, and a makeover is the perfect tool for that.
Anyway, I use:
-Mary Kay foundation in Antique Ivory. The powder is a MAC in some shade of ivory as well.
-Mary Kay blush in two colors: nutmeg in the winter and orchid in the summer, or I blend them both.
-Mary Kay triple action eye enhancer: I know, it sounds like I'm a Mary Kay consultant, but really you have to prep your eyes for shadow or else there's no use putting it on. This has a powdery finish that helps the eyeshadow stay.
-On the eyes, either Mac Shroom and Mac Girlie or Mary Kay Fig and Clove. If I'm wearing the Mary Kay colors, I usually use Smoky Plum shadow as an eyeliner.
-Maybelline Volum Express mascara in brown/black
-Lip liner is an old MAC I can't remember right now, maybe Plum?
-Lipstick is my new favorite find. Target stores carry Sonia Kashuk; the color I use is Tea Rose.
I finish off by spraying my neck and decolletage with Burt's Bees Grapefruit Complexion Mist. It's refreshing and smells great!
