fireyesblue.jpgfireyesblue - I have light fiery red hair and fair skin with a rosy tone, and few freckles. Because my skin takes on a fake appearance with heavier makeup due to the sudden uniformity of the regular colored and rosy areas on my face, I tend to use lighter, more translucent foundations, usually just of the powdered variety. Fairer skin has its own translucence anyway, so to totally cover this is to take away from the natural porcelain appearance. I use Cover Girl Simply Powder foundation in Ivor y or Max Factor sheer powder foundation in Light. I don't usually use blush because my cheeks are rosy all on their own.

Since my eyebrows are a dark blonde rather than red, copper or red mascaras don't flatter me very much so I use Cover Girl Remarkable waterproof mascara in soft black to set off my blue eyes. On a normal day, usually use pale mauve or taupe eyeshadows, which are natural enough not to stand out, but also bring out blue eyes and don't clash with my hair. When going out, I use dark shadows to have a smouldering effect, like charcoal grays or dark browns, then I line my eyes with a mix of water a nd powdered glitter (Impact, sold at booths in most malls, is a great brand for this with over 20 colors), my choice of the moment being a discoball silver. It is a myth that blue shadow/eyeliner draws blue out, it only plays it down by drawing the blue appearance outward.

I don't like lipstick and the way it feathers and feels sticky. I use L'Oreal's Rouge Pulp lipstick line because it applies and takes on the texture of lipgloss. On a normal day, Blushing is my color because of its natural-lip mauve shade. When going out, depending on the shade of my eyeshadow, I'll use either Dreamy (a frosty medium pink with a slight blue hue) or Forbidden (a shimmery medium mocha shade with a slight pink hue). Bright reds clash with red hair, as do bright pinks and corals.
