Teri C. - I'm a LIGHT RED/ STRAWBERRY BLONDE. I don't use foundations (yuck, can't breath). However I do use a skin brightening moisturizer. The product I like is expensive (just seem to have expensive taste) it is ULITIMA ll, it is called GLOWTION ($21.50)and I use the fair in the winter and the light in the summer.
Next step is the eyebrows. Mine are very pale, and I do pluck and shape them. I use the L'OREAL light brown pencil and brush it out to blend with the skin, but don't over blend so the pencil blends right off. Next I use a mascara to top off the eyebrows, (I like the look of actual hairs) with that I use JUST FOR REDHEADS mascara, I think it's the GINGER to brush on my eyebrows. Be careful to lightly brush in one direction for this trick after it dries, use a loose powder to "set" it so when you scratch, or rub your forehead you don't wipe off an eyebrow !! LOL.
I like to use eyeshadows of neutral color, like sand, beige, honey that match closely to your skin tone but use a frost not matte. Apply on lid and browbone. Next is a brown tone to apply in the crease. Don't make it dark, just enough to look like a shadow to add depth.
On top of the shadow I use an eyeliner pencil by MAYBELLINE called SMOKED GRAY or one from REVLON, HIGH DEMENSION - 02 STEEL FLASH. I have green eyes and black and browns I feel don't look good. Then smudge the liner after it has been on the eyelids for a couple of minutes (it will smudge easier when it is warmed by the skin). Some eyeliner pencils come with a "smudge tip" on the end of the pencil. That is what I use.
Next is the eyelash curler ! Oh boy, sometimes that can be painful. Brush the eyelashes before curling them. Curl, then apply two coats on top lashes and one coat on bottom. (Please make sure you don't let any lashes touch each other and dry. That looks SO tacky to have eyelashes stuck together. My method to do this is very dangerous, but I have been doing it FOREVER. I use a long upholstery needle to seperate any that get stuck)Please be advised I am not suggesting any of you ladies to use this technique. It simply works best for me.
Then the lips....... I use ESTEE LAUDER lip pencil, 01-SPICE. I top off with ESTEE LAUDER lipstick, called GO POUT, color is HONEYBUN.
All the products I have mentioned you can purchase at local stores in your neighborhood. WAL-MART, K-MART (not for sure how much longer there with the unfortunate bankruptcy) MEIJERS and probably your local drug stores, CVS, RITE-AIDE etc. You will have to get the ESTEE LAUDER at the finer Department Stores at the cosmetic counter. Hudson, Elder Beermen......those types. I get my ULTIMA ll GLOWTION at CVS. Good luck ladies !
