cordelia.jpgCordelia - I have fiery red hair with the palest skin possible for a human being to have. I love my skin tone and my hair color, but it can be tricky to find the right makeup. I absolutely swear by Just for Redheads beauty products. Never was there a more loyal customer than I.

On an ordinary day I'll just wear the ginger red mascara, mink or bronze eyeshadow, and gingerred brush a brow. Two minutes. If I want to look a little nicer, I'll wear the ivory foundation (super pale, since I have the fairest skin ever!) with the whisper apricot blush and pressed powder. I have about half of the JFR lipsticks, so I just mix and match. For formal occasions I'll wear the matte Pecan or the micro spice, and for summer I'm really liking micro cashmere or naked bronze lipshine. They're all so great, and I haven't come across a JFR lipstick that didn't look good on me. I don't even bother with drugstore makeup anymore. I used to buy makeup at walmart, but without fail I would end up throwing it away after wearing it the first time. Not good. Just For Redheads has a website, which is www.JustForRedheads.com, and you can also request a mail-order catalogue.

The only exception to my JFR fanaticism that I've made recently was when I took Kestrel's advice and got the lavender loose powder from amphigory.com. So nice. The effect is otherworldly, and it's inexpensive too. Amphigory.com has the neatest products that're worth checking out, as well as some products that are better to just look at. You'll see what I mean if you go there.

Since sunscreen is imperative for me, I'm constantly on the lookout for the perfect sunscreen which is makeup compatible, won't turn me paperwhite, and doesn't look greasy. For lack of anything better, I use Neutrogena SPF 45 with the parsol, which anyone can get at their local drugstore or walmart. I works, and it's oil-free so it doesn't aggravate my face, but it does look greasy and I can't put makeup on over it. So lots of times I wimp out and use coppertone SPF 30 gel, which is al s o available at most drugstores. It looks and feels better, but not as much protection. If anyone has any better ideas, please let me know!
